BROKEN FLOWERS
Like fragile memories, BROKEN FLOWERS combines flowers, plants, taxidermy, and medical objects. They are held together by needles, threads, and ribbons, exploring the tension between stability and vulnerability, between life and death.
Flowers and plants are symbols of impermanence, the cycle of life and transformation, while animal specimens and medical objects remind us of the vulnerable nature of the body.
Each sculpture becomes a symbol of a familiar state: the ongoing fragility of our existence, the search for balance amidst chaos, and the acceptance of our own vulnerability. They remind us that within fragility often lies an unexpected strength and grace - one that can only be truly experienced in a moment of balance.
Themes of vanitas and decay are interwoven into a subtle homage to the resilience and beauty hidden within fragility.
All sculptures are designed and handmade by me. My photos were created in
real time and were not subsequently constructed at the computer.
